Showroom lighting

Showroom lighting is an important part of buying behavior. The atmosphere that hangs in a showroom upon entering contributes to the customer’s experience. Through accent lighting, it is possible to highlight certain products, making people more likely to walk up to them and make a purchase. In addition, general lighting is important for creating a fresh and comfortable look.

Benefits of LED showroom lighting

There are several advantages to using LED site lighting. We’d like to highlight a few for you.
There are several advantages to LED showroom lighting. We like to highlight a few.

  • The lighting is dimmable, allowing you to respond differently to the customer’s buying experience in multiple rooms. Even after closing time, if desired, you can dim the light instead of turning it off completely.
  • A showroom is often a large space, sometimes very high. LED lighting is durable and so, even with large amounts of lighting, you save on energy bills each month. In addition, LED lighting lasts much longer, so you’re investing in replacement costs in the long run.
  • Combining general lighting with accent lighting creates a nice atmosphere from the front door and allows you to highlight certain products or series.

Different options for showroom lighting

Various types of showroom lighting are available. Consider track systems, which make it easy to move lighting around, or LED high bay lighting, suitable for large spaces. But we also offer LED panels, recessed or surface-mounted fixtures and many more options in our range.

There are additionally several options for displaying the light. This allows you to determine the color temperature (expressed in Kelvin): are you going for a warm or cool look? Color rendering (expressed in CRI) can also be determined. The lower the color rendering, the faster the colors deviate from the colors your eyes can perceive. Tip: Choose a CRI above 90 if perception of color is important in your showroom. Finally, the light output (expressed in lumens) is good to look at: how much illumination do you want the lamp to emit?

Tips from Ocab for showroom lighting

Installing showroom lighting can be quite a complicated job. How do you know you are illuminating the right aspects to influence buying behavior? Ocab is sure to give you a few tips….

  • Pick a specific goal before you start working with light: what product or collection would you most like to have sold or highlighted?
  • Avoid shadows by avoiding harsh light.
  • Keep in mind varying seasons and associated light through the windows in the showroom.
  • Choose the right heat temperature. It is expressed in Kelvin. The lower the Kelvin value, the warmer the color.
